“What of sons, though proficient in the sciences and endowed with utmost modesty?
What of wives, endowed with charming beauty and conduct, and agreeable to oneself?
What use is long life or freedom from the course of disease,
when all this, stricken by poverty, is for me nothing but sorrow?”
