ācāryalakṣaṇairyuktaṃ sthapatirnāma dhīyate
śrutajñaḥ sūtragrāhī ca rekhājñaḥ śāstravittamaḥ
One endowed with the characteristics of an ācārya is designated by the name master-architect. / The surveyor is versed in traditional learning, knows lines, and is most learned in the treatises.
