tadardhaṃ mūlavistāraṃ pucchāgrāṅgulakaṃ tataḥ
āmūlāgraṃ kṣayaṃ kuryādyuktyā ca sarvarūpakam
The width at the base is half of that, and from then on [diminishes to] a digit at the tip of the tail; / from base to top, one should judiciously effect a reduction in all its forms.
