vyāse ṣaḍvasvaṃśake'ṣṭābhiraṃśārkairmanvaṃśairdairghyakaṃ tadvadaṃśe
ekadvayaṃśaṃ mukhyavāsasya vāraṃ dairghyāṣṭāṃśairvāramekaṃ ca sārdham

When the breadth is six or eight parts, its length is [made] with eight, twelve, or fourteen parts; similarly in the parts, / the verandah of the main dwelling is one or two parts, and the verandah is one and a half parts by eight parts of the length.
