atha grahāṇāṃ bālyādyavasthānirūpaṇam |
bālaḥ kumāro'tha yuvā ca vṛddho mṛtaśca rāśāvayuji krameṇa |
triṃśaljavairṣyatyayataḥ same syurekaikaśo'śāḥ punareva kāryāḥ ||

Now the exposition of the infant and other states of the planets: / In an odd sign, [the state of a planet is] in order infant, youth, adult, old, and dead, / divided into six-degree portions; in an even sign, these states are in the reverse order.
