vihāya lagnaṃ viṣamarkṣasaṃsthaḥ sauro'pi puṃjanmakaro vilagnāt |
proktagrahāṇāvalokya vīryaṃ vācyaḥ prasūtau puruṣo'ṅganā vā ||

Saturn also, situated in an odd sign other than the ascendant, causes a male birth from the ascendant;
having observed the strength of the stated planets, one must declare a male or a female at birth.
