daśāpatirlagnagato yadi syāt triṃṣaḍdaśaikādaśagaśca lagnāt |
tasaptavargo'piatha tat suhṛdā lagne śubho vā śubhadā daśā syāt ||
If the lord of the period is in the ascendant, or in the third, sixth, tenth, or eleventh from the ascendant,
possessing the saptavarga divisions, or is a friend to the lord of the ascendant, or a benefic in the ascendant, the period becomes auspicious.
