kaṇṭaka ādi pravṛttais tu catur gṛha gatair grahaiḥ/
yūpeṣu śakti daṇḍa ākhyā horā ādyaiḥ kaṇṭakaiḥ kramāt//(anuṣṭubh)
When planets occupy four signs beginning from a cardinal house,
they are called Yūpa, Iṣu, Śakti, and Daṇḍa from the ascendant and other cardinal houses successively.
