janmakālavaśādevaṃ phalaṃ proktaṃ tvayā mune
yajjanmasamayo'jñāto jñeyaṃ tasya phalaṃ katham

[Maitreya said:] / In this way the result [of a nativity] has been explained by you, O sage, on the basis of the time of birth; / but when the time of birth is unknown, how is its result to be known?
