atha tāvatpuruṣāṇāṃ lakṣaṇānyāha—
unmānamānagatisāramanūkamādau
snehasvaraprakṛtivarṇasasandhisattvam
kṣetraṃ mṛjāṃ ca vidhivatkuśalovalokya
sāmudravidvadati yātamanāgataṃ ca

Now he states the characteristics of men:
Having properly observed the height, weight, gait, constitution, lineage at the outset,
gloss, voice, temperament, complexion, joints, vitality,
physique, and purity, a person skilled
in physiognomy declares the past and the future.
