"At the end of an odd [quadrant, they are] two, three, and the pair [232]; two and the Viśvedevas [132]; the twins and the mountains [72]; / the void, the seasons, and the Dasras [260]; the sky and the Vedas [40]; these are stated in the fast computation." Thus.
By Bhāskarācārya:
"Their fast [epicycles] are: the Kṛtas and the Jinas [24] minus one-third [23° 40'], the teeth and the Moon [132], the Vasus and the flavors [68], the Vasus, the arrows, and the Dasras [258], / and the full [void] and the oceans [40]. Now, the base-sine of the slow anomaly of Venus multiplied by two and divided by the trijyā— / diminished by the result, the slow epicycle becomes true. Then, the base-sine of its fast anomaly multiplied by five / [and] divided by the trijyā, when added to the fast epicycle, becomes true. The sine of the distance traversed or to be traversed from the quadrant of the anomaly of Mars and Venus, / multiplied by seven minus one-third and added to the sign, divided by its sine, diminished or increased by a fraction, [corrects] the slow apogee. / When Mars's own anomaly has entered Cancer, Capricorn, etc., its fast epicycle is diminished by degrees of its fraction..."
