Now the primacy of the science of sounds:

pattyaśvagajabhūpālaiḥ sampūrṇā yadi vāhinī |
tathsasapi bhaṅgamāyāti nṛpo honasvarodayī ||
Even if an army is fully equipped with foot-soldiers, horses, elephants, and rulers of the earth, / Still a king devoid of svarodaya meets with defeat.

tāvattaranti te dhīrā dorbhyāmāhavasāgaram |
yāvatpatanti no cakre svarāste vaḍavānale ||
Those valiant men cross the ocean of battle with their two arms / Only so long as their sounds do not fall into the diagrammatic wheel of the submarine fire.
