The Long Āgama Sūtra 18.32

18.32

舍利弗言：「我當報彼：『過去三耶三佛與如來等，未來三耶三佛與如來等，我躬從佛聞，欲使現在有三耶三佛與如來等者，無有是處。』世尊！我如所聞，依法順法，作如是答，將無咎耶？」

Śāriputra said, “My response to them would be, ‘The complete and correct Buddhas of the past were equals of the Tathāgata, and the complete and correct Buddhas of the future will be equals of the Tathāgata. I myself have heard from the Buddha that it’s impossible for there to be other complete and correct Buddhas of the present who are equals of the Tathāgata.’ Bhagavān, just as I’ve heard it, I would thus answer them, relying on and aligning with the Dharma. Would there be any error in that?
