是時，尊者優陀耶遙見世尊向迦毘羅衛坐，見已，便作是念：「世尊必當欲往至迦毘羅衛見諸親里。」是時，優陀耶即前長跪，白世尊曰：「我今堪任欲有所問，唯願敷演。」

Venerable Udāyī then saw the Bhagavān sitting facing Kapilavastu from a distance. Seeing that, he thought, “Surely, the Bhagavān will go to Kapilavastu to see his relatives there.” Udāyī then knelt before the Bhagavān and said, “I have a question now that’s worthy of asking, if you would please explain it fully.”
