“Five monks, you should know that these are the three turnings and twelve steps of the four truths. Someone who doesn’t truly know them doesn’t achieve the unsurpassed, correct, and complete awakening. It was by discerning these four truths in three turnings and twelve steps and truly knowing them that I achieved the unsurpassed, correct, and complete awakening.”
