43. The commentary on the Saṃkiccajātaka (Jātaka no. 530) describes the process in reverse, namely that fire or vapor enters their bodies and burns or cooks it from the inside (Tesu jālaroruve paccantānaṃ navahi vaṇṇamukhehi jālā pavisitvā sarīraṃ dahanti, dhūmaroruve paccantānaṃ navahi vaṇamukhehi khāradhūmo pavisitvā piṭṭhaṃ viya sarīraṃ sedeti).
