nanu yadi nāmākramaṃ kāraṇaṃ tathā bhūtenaiva kāryeṇāpi bhavitavyamiti kutaḥ . na hi kāraṇādabhinnameva kāryaṃ . vilakṣaṇasyāpi darśanāt .

[Objection:] Well, even granted that the cause is devoid of sequence, why must the effect also be of that very nature? For the effect is not entirely non-different from the cause, because that which possesses different characteristics is also observed.
