Homage to all the buddhas and bodhisattvas who have come, will come, and presently reside in the three times!
Homage to all the buddhas and noble śrāvakas of the past, present and future!
Homage to those who have reached perfection and those who have set out towards perfection.
Homage to the great sage Śāradvatīputra.
Homage to the eight noble bodhisattvas led by Maitreya.
Homage to the noble tathāgata, the arhat, the complete and perfect Buddha Amitābha.
Homage to the Three Jewels.
Homage to the bodhisattva, the mahāsattva, the noble and great compassionate Avalokiteśvara.
Homage to Mahāsthāmaprāpta.
Having paid homage to them, I shall now set forth The Essence of Amoghapāśa, which was spoken by noble Avalokiteśvara in the presence of the tathāgata and his vast retinue.
May I accomplish this mantra formula and all deeds!
May I be protected from all dangers!
