atha padmottara tathāgata || teṣāmāsayonusayaṃ jñātvā || vajanahitāya || suṣāya
lokānukaṃpāya || devamanuṣyānāñca || hitāya mahāyānasya || paripūrṇārtha
|| avaivarttikadharmmacakraṃ || pravarttitavān || bodhisatva āha ||
bhagavaṃkiyacciruṃsā lokadhātu || padmottara tathāgata || sthita sadharmmambā ||
bhagavānāha ||

Then the Tathāgata Padmottara, knowing their inclinations and latent dispositions, set turning the wheel of the non-retrogressing Dharma for the welfare of beings, for [their] happiness, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit of devas and humans, [and] to bring the Mahāyāna to fulfilment. A bodhisattva said: "Blessed One, for how long will that world system, the Tathāgata Padmottara, or the true Dharma remain?" The Blessed One said:
