17. This translation understands the Tibetan text to be a translation of the stock Sanskrit phrase kṛtyākarmaṇakākhordavetāla, in which the term karmaṇa refers to violent rites that employ kṛtyas as harmful magical agents. The Tib. term sgyur ba’i las would more literally mean “the karma/activities of transformation.”
