佛說偈已，五百梵志意自開解，即前禮佛五體投地叉手白佛言：「頑愚不及未達聖訓，唯願愍育得為沙門。」佛即聽受皆為沙門。村人大小見佛變化莫不歡欣，皆得道迹，稱之賢里，無復屠兒之名。佛食畢訖即還精舍。
On hearing these words, the Brahmans were convinced of their folly, and became disciples. The butcher also and his associates were converted, and then the All-Wise returned to the Vihāra.
