43. Commentaries have gzhan (“other”), although glossed as phas kyi rgol ba (“opponent”). The Kangyur version has only gnas kyi rnam pa. The Sanskrit has arhasthāna, where arha could be “worthy” but could also possibly mean “enemy.” This quality is described as being that which is needed in debate.
