The Lotus Sūtra 7.19

7.19

ལྡན་འདས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་ཡང་དག་པར་རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་རིན་ཆེན་མང་ལ་མངོན་དུ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་དེ་དག་ས་རུམ་ནས་འཐོན་ནས། བར་གྱི་བསྐལ་པ་ལྔ་བཅུ་རྫོགས་པར་འདས་ཀྱི་བར་དུ་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་རྣམས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཞིང་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་བསྟོད་པ་རྣམ་པ་དུ་མས་བསྟོད་དོ། །བར་གྱི་བསྐལ་པ་ལྔ་བཅུ་པོ་དེ་དག་ལ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཤཱཀྱ་ཐུབ་པ་དེ་ཅང་མི་གསུང་བར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །འཁོར་བཞི་པོ་དེ་དག་ཀྱང་བར་གྱི་བསྐལ་པ་ལྔ་བཅུ་པོ་དེ་དག་ཉིད་ལ་ཅང་མི་སྨྲ་བར་འཁོད་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་མངོན་པར་འདུ་བྱ་བ་འདི་ལྟ་བུ་མཛད་དེ། རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་ཇི་ལྟ་བུ་མངོན་པར་འདུ་བྱ་བ་མངོན་པར་མཛད་པས་འཁོར་བཞི་པོ་དེ་དག་གིས་དེ་དག་ཕྱི་དྲོ་གཅིག་ཁོ་ན་སྙམ་དུ་ཤེས་སོ། །འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་ཁམས་མི་མཇེད་འདི་ཡང་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་ཁམས་སྟོང་ཕྲག་བརྒྱའི་ནམ་མཁའ་ཙམ་དུ་གྱུར་ཏེ། བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔས་ཡོངས་སུ་གང་བར་མཐོང་ངོ་། །བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་ཚོགས་ཆེན་པོ་དང་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་ཕུང་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་དེའི་གཙོ་བོ། བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་བཞི་གང་དག་བྱུང་བ་འདི་ལྟ་སྟེ། བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་དང་། བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་མཐའ་ཡས་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་དང་། བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་རྣམ་པར་དག་ཅེས་བྱ་བ་དང་། བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་བརྟན་པ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་སྟེ། བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་བཞི་པོ་དེ་དག་ནི་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་ཚོགས་ཆེན་པོ་དང་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་ཕུང་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་དེའི་གཙོ་བོར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་བཞི་པོ་དེ་དག་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་ཚོགས་ཆེན་པོ་དང་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་ཕུང་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་དེའི་མདུན་དུ་འདུག་སྟེ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་སྤྱན་སྔར་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་གནོད་པ་ཆུང་ལགས་སམ། སྙུན་ཉུང་ལགས་སམ། བདེ་བར་རེག་པ་ལ་གནས་ལགས་སམ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་སེམས་ཅན་རྣམས་ཚུལ་མཛེས་

and the tathāgata, the arhat, the perfectly enlightened buddha Prabhūtaratna.

At that time those bodhisattva mahāsattvas who had emerged from the ground paid homage to the tathāgatas and praised them with various bodhisattva praises for fifty intermediate eons. During those fifty intermediate eons Bhagavān Śākyamuni remained silent, and the fourfold assembly also remained silent for those fifty intermediate eons.

The Bhagavān now brought about a miracle, such that through that miracle the fourfold assembly thought those eons were just one afternoon. They saw this Sahā world realm became the size of a hundred thousand world realms and filled with bodhisattvas.

There were four bodhisattva mahāsattvas who were the principal ones among that great gathering of bodhisattvas, that great aggregation of bodhisattvas. They were the bodhisattva mahāsattva named Vi­śiṣṭa­cāritra, the bodhisattva mahāsattva named Anantacāritra, the bodhisattva mahāsattva named Vi­śuddha­cāritra, and the bodhisattva mahāsattva named Su­pratiṣṭhita­cāritra. Those four bodhisattva mahāsattvas were the principal figures among that great gathering of bodhisattvas, that great aggregation of bodhisattvas.

Those four bodhisattva mahāsattvas now stood before that great gathering of bodhisattvas, that great aggregation of bodhisattvas, and in front of the Bhagavān, with hands placed together in homage, they inquired of the Bhagavān, “Bhagavān, do you have few troubles, do you have little illness, are you happy? Bhagavān, are the beings in your care of good character?
