1.16

At that time, the Buddha emitted a ray of light from the white tuft between his eyebrows, illuminating eighteen thousand worlds in the east, everywhere without exception, down to the Avīci hell and up to the Akaniṣṭha heaven. In this world, all the sentient beings of the six destinies in those lands were seen, and the present Buddhas in those lands were seen, and the sūtras and teachings expounded by those Buddhas were heard. Moreover, those bhikṣus, bhikṣuṇīs, upāsakas, and upāsikās who practiced and attained the Way were seen. Furthermore, the bodhisattva-mahāsattvas practicing the Bodhisattva Way through diverse causes and conditions, diverse faiths and understandings, and diverse aspects were seen. Furthermore, the Buddhas who entered parinirvāṇa were seen. Furthermore, after the Buddhas had entered parinirvāṇa, seven-jeweled stūpas built with the Buddha relics were seen.
