At that time, the replicated bodies of Śākyamuni Buddha, the Buddhas from the lands in the east as numerous as the sands of hundreds of thousands of myriads of koṭis of nayutas of Ganges rivers, each preaching the Dharma, came and assembled here; in this manner, following sequentially, the Buddhas of the ten directions all came and assembled, sitting in the eight directions. At that time, in each direction, four hundred myriad koṭis of nayutas of lands were filled with Buddha Tathāgatas. At this time, each of the Buddhas, sitting upon a lion seat beneath a jewelled tree, dispatched an attendant to inquire after Śākyamuni Buddha, each handing him a handful of jewelled flowers and telling him: 'Kulaputra! Go to Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa to the place of Śākyamuni Buddha, and speak on my behalf, saying: "Are you experiencing few ailments and few troubles? Are your vital energies comfortable? And are the assemblies of bodhisattvas and śrāvakas all at peace?" Scatter these jewelled flowers over the Buddha as an offering, and say: "Such-and-such Buddha gives his consent to open this jewelled stūpa."' The envoys sent by all the Buddhas did likewise.
