"Furthermore, Mañjuśrī! After the Tathāgata's extinction, in the Latter Age of the Dharma, if one wishes to preach this sūtra, one should abide in the easeful practice. When proclaiming it orally or reading the sūtra, one must not take pleasure in speaking of the faults of people or scriptures. Nor should one despise or treat with contempt other dharmabhāṇakas, or speak of others' good and bad qualities, strengths and weaknesses. Regarding śrāvakas, one should not mention them by name to speak of their errors and vices, nor mention them by name to praise their excellence, nor harbor resentment or enmity toward them. Because one skillfully cultivates such an easeful mind, listeners will not go against one's intent; if there are difficult questions, one does not answer with Hīnayāna teachings, but explains solely by means of the Mahāyāna, causing them to attain the knowledge of all modes."
