One enters into the ultimate truth as like a dream,
And into nirvāṇa as resembling a dream;
When a wise one enters in such a way,
That is spoken of as the supreme restraint of mind.”
Noble Samādhirāja Sūtra. [Bampo 15], the final [bampo].
“Kumāra, in this regard, total purity of karma is as follows: seeing the three realms of existence as like a dream, one generates detachment toward them. Kumāra, this is called ‘total purity of karma.’
Kumāra, in this regard, what is genuine transcendence beyond objective reference? It is as follows: having recognized the aggregates, elements, and sense bases to be like an illusion, one discards them. This is called ‘genuine transcendence beyond objective reference.’
In this regard, what is complete understanding of the aggregates? It is as follows: engaging with the aggregates as like a mirage.
In this regard, what is the samatā of the elements? It is as follows: definitely renouncing the elements as like magical creations.
In this regard, what is dispelling the sense bases? It is as follows: definitely renouncing the sense bases as like optical illusions.
In this regard, what is abandoning craving? It is as follows: not viewing any phenomenon.
In this regard, what is directly actualizing the unproduced? It is as follows: not apprehending any phenomenon.
In this regard, what is undertaking actions? It is as follows: not wasting the suffering that arises from diligence.
In this regard, what is showing the cause? It is as follows: actualizing the aggregates as like an echo.
In this regard, what is not wasting the result? It is as follows: not wasting the result of karma as like a dream.
In this regard, what is seeing phenomena? It is as follows: not seeing any phenomena.
In this regard, what is cultivating the path? It is as follows: phenomena…”
