In the Ugradattaparipṛcchā it is also said: "Moreover, householder, if a bodhisattva who desires reading and recitation should hear from someone, or recite, or take up a four-line stanza associated with generosity, ethical discipline, forbearance, vigor, meditative concentration, or wisdom, or the accumulation of the bodhisattva's provisions, he should show reverence for the Dharma toward that master for as many [aeons] as there are names, words, and syllables in the stanza recited [...]. If he were to perform service and attendance for that master for that many aeons without deceit, with offerings of all gains and honor, even now, householder, reverence for the master would not be fully fulfilled toward that master, to say nothing of reverence for the Dharma."
