Even though he is said to be dead in this Dharma-Vinaya, nevertheless that individual is like yellow orpiment or musk." In this very work it is said: "Those who harass those who have gone forth on my account, whether they are vehicles or worthy recipients, commit an extreme offense against all the Buddhas of the three times. Their roots of wholesome virtue are utterly severed, their mental continuities are incinerated, and they are destined for the Avīci hell." In this very work it is said: "This banner of liberation, that is, the red saffron robe, is consecrated by all the Buddhas." And in this very work it is said: "At that time indeed, many hundreds of thousands of myriads of śrāvakas and many hundreds of thousands of myriads of bodhisattvas confessed before the Blessed One such past karmic obscurations: 'Venerable Blessed One, in the dispensation of many past Tathāgatas, we too felt disgust toward, defamed, provoked, and spread dispraise and disrepute about worthy recipients, individuals belonging to the Śrāvaka vehicle of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones. By that karmic obscuration, we experienced manifold, intense, fierce, and painful sensations in the three realms of misery.'"
