In the holy Akṣayamatisūtra, too, he spoke thus: "At the time of giving, there is disregard of ethical discipline's inclusion," and so forth. And here one must not be lax, nor does it fail to be acquired in the rest, because of the statement in the Daśabhūmikasūtra: "according to one's strength, according to one's capacity." And this vow is obtainable even for women of mild afflictions whose minds aspire for awakening. For it is said in the Bodhisattvaprātimokṣa, beginning with: "Endowed with four qualities, Śāriputra, bodhisattvas speak the truth," it says: "Here, Śāriputra, a noble son or a noble daughter, having generated the mind for unexcelled, complete awakening, abides with vigor aroused for the quest of wholesome qualities"—beginning with this, all instruction is given.
