Right here, in the liberation of the female lay-disciple Vācanā, it is described: "Noble son, when a bodhisattva is engaged in the instruction of a virtuous friend, the blessed buddhas are well-pleased in mind. For a bodhisattva who does not act contrary to the words of a virtuous friend, omniscience draws near. For one who is free from doubt regarding the words of a virtuous friend, virtuous friends draw near. For one who is not devoid of mindfulness of the virtuous friend, all aims appear before him." For this very reason the noble Sudhana, having bowed down his head to the feet of the monk Sāradhvaja, having circumambulated him many hundreds of thousands of times, gazing at the monk Sāradhvaja, prostrating, looking back again and again, constantly prostrating, bowing down, bending low, keeping him in mind, reflecting, contemplating, cultivating, uttering an inspired utterance, crying out "Ah!", bringing his virtues to mind, concluding, settling there, recollecting, making them firm, not forsaking him, waiting attentively in mind, binding his resolution, keeping to his vow, longing for the sight of him, taking up the sound and mark [of his voice], until he departed from his presence. Likewise, seeing omniscience as having come from the virtuous friend, with tear-stained face, weeping, until he departed from the presence of Megha the Dravidian.
