For in the Bodhisattvaprātimokṣa, service is taught with respect to fellow practitioners, hearing the Dharma, and worshiping the Tathāgata; the conduct there is taken from the Ratnarāśisūtra: 'There, the monk who performs service must gladden the minds of the whole community of monks. There, to those monks who dwell in the forest and use remote lodgings, the monk who performs service must not assign any duties whatsoever. If, however, some duty pertaining to a monk in training belonging to the community should fall upon a forest-dwelling monk, that monk who performs service must do it himself, or invite another monk; that forest-dwelling monk should not be troubled. There, whichever monk is an alms-gatherer, the monk who performs service must share fine foods with him. There, Kāśyapa, whichever monk is a practitioner of yoga, the monk who performs service must provide him with suitable necessities, as well as provisions of medicine and requisites for sickness. And in whatever place that yoga-practicing monk resides, loud noise must not be made in that place. The yoga-practicing monk must be protected by the monk who performs service; support for his lodging must be provided for him; and fine, agreeable foods and meals favorable to the stage of yoga practice must be offered to him.' … [and so on] …
