It is like Vaiśravaṇa, because it cuts off all poverty; like the king of wish-fulfilling jewels, because it accomplishes all purposes; like an auspicious vase, because it fulfills all intentions; like a spear, for overcoming the enemy of the afflictions; like armor, because it properly cuts off improper mental attention; like a sword, because it strikes off the head of the afflictions; like an axe, because it fells the tree of suffering; like a weapon, because it protects from all calamities; like a fishhook, because it pulls out those who move in the waters of saṃsāra; like a whirlwind, because it scatters the grass of all obscurations and hindrances; like a summary, because it encompasses all the bodhisattva practices and vows; like a stūpa, for the world of gods, humans, and asuras. In this way, noble youth, the awakening mind is endowed with these and other immeasurable distinctive virtues."
