Attwood (2017a) has argued that the term mantra in The Heart Sūtra most likely is a mistranslation of the Chinese rendering of the term vidyā, because this is what appears in Sanskrit manuscripts of the The Perfection of Wisdom in Twenty-Five Thousand Lines and because of how Kumārajīva phrases it in his translation of that text.
