"The practitioner, on the full moon, next enters and performs recitation,
On a mountain peak, in a cowpen, in a charnel ground, or on a river islet,
Beneath a solitary tree at a crossroads, or in a temple of the Mātṛs.
All has the color of vajra, adorned and purified like vajra.
All obstructing spirits therein are subdued, their minds bewildered.
The four quarters are enclosed all around, with one gate and an entranceway,
Vajras linked with one another, bound in accord with the vajra-knot.
At each gate are two guardians, facing each other, not to be transgressed,
With hands raised and pointing upward, red-eyed and of wrathful form.
At the corners, assiduously paint the blazing śūla-mudrā.
In the center is a wondrous vajra-seat, precisely aligned with the directions;
Upon it is a great lotus, its eight petals and filaments unfolded.
One should form the mudrā of Vajrapāṇi, the vajra-wisdom mudrā,
Bow the head to all Buddhas, and repeatedly make firm vows.
One should protect and sustain this place, and purify all medicinal substances.
Reciting through this night, pure and unobstructed,
Either at the midnight watch, or at the time of sunrise,
Those medicinal substances will transform, a circular radiance flaring everywhere.
The mantrin takes them up himself, roaming in the great void,
Dwelling in long life with great majestic power, sovereign over birth and death,
Wandering at the summit of the world, manifesting various physical forms.
Possessing virtues and auspiciousness, he is worshipped in succession;
Substances accomplished through mantra are called siddhi.
Through differentiated medicinal substances, the undifferentiated is accomplished."
