「復次祕密主！菩薩受持不麁惡罵戒，應當以柔軟心語、隨類言辭攝受諸眾生等。何以故？祕密主！菩提薩埵初行，利樂眾生。或餘菩薩見住惡趣因者，為折伏之而現麁語。

"Furthermore, Guhyakādhipati! A bodhisattva accepts and maintains the precept against harsh abusive speech; he should embrace sentient beings with gentle thoughts and speech, and words appropriate to their kind. Why is this? Guhyakādhipati! The initial practice of a bodhisattva is to benefit and bring joy to sentient beings. Alternatively, another bodhisattva, seeing those who dwell in the causes of the evil destinies, manifests harsh speech in order to subdue them.
