At that time, the vajradhara Abiding in Non-conceptual Elaboration addressed the Buddha, saying: "World-Honored One, please speak of the unimpeded knowledge precepts of the three times. If a bodhisattva abides in these, it will cause all buddhas and bodhisattvas to rejoice." When this was said, the Buddha addressed the vajradhara Abiding in Non-conceptual Elaboration and the others, saying: "Sons of the Buddha, listen attentively! If a son of good family abides in this precept, uniting body, speech, and mind as one, he does not perform any conditioned phenomena. What is the precept? It is what is called contemplating the relinquishment of one's own body and offering it to the buddhas and bodhisattvas. Why is this? If one relinquishes one's own body, one thereby relinquishes those three things. What are the three? They are called body, speech, and mind. Therefore, son of good family, by receiving the precept of body, speech, and mind, one receives the name of bodhisattva. Why is that? Because one is free from that body, speech, and mind. Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas should train in this way. Next, on the following day, empowering his own body through Vajrasattva, he pays homage to the World-Honored One Vairocana, and should take a pure vase filled with perfumed water, empower it by reciting the mantra of Trailokyavijaya, place it outside the first gate, and use it to sprinkle these people. That ācārya bestows the pure perfumed water and has them drink it, so that their minds may be purified."
