「若比丘，與比丘尼議共道行，乃至到一聚落，波夜提；除因緣。因緣者，若多伴、所行道有疑怖畏，是名因緣。
"If a bhikṣu by agreement travels along the same road with a bhikṣuṇī, even so far as to one village, it is a prāyaścittika; except on an occasion. The occasion is when there are many companions or the road to be travelled has doubts and dangers; this is called an occasion.
