“The practitioner should thirstily contemplate his body parts: first form the jewel mudrā, joining both hands above the crown, pervading all the limbs. Chanting those initial twenty-eight syllables, those twenty-eight syllables of the mantra then become the necklaces of my body. Next, one should form the heavenly king’s Sanskrit secret word armor mudrā: making the vajrāñjali, place it above the heart, contemplating that this is the armor on the practitioner's body. Fully understanding the meaning of that gāthā, one employs this Sanskrit vidyā. If one desires the forbearance of the non-arising of dharmas, contemplate the radiance of the Sanskrit seed-syllables of the seven mantras. Closing one's eyes and concentrating, there is a golden wheel circling around, manifesting seven kinds of light: first, blue like lapis lazuli; second, yellow like placer gold; third, red like fiery lumps of coal; fourth, white like silver; fifth, deep red like crystal; sixth, blue and yellow blended together like agate; seventh, blue and white blended together like mother-of-pearl. Such rays of light emerge from one's own mouth and enter the mouth of the principal deity, and likewise emerge from and enter into one's own crown. Continuing in this manner, they enter and exit the bodies of all sentient beings. Then, closing the eyes, recite with the mouth the mother mantras and seven mantras of the three divisions: first, the syllable *ku*; second, the syllable *hūṃ*; third, the twenty-eight-syllable mantra; fourth, the Sanskrit vidyārājñī of the heavenly king; fifth, the vidyā of the gāthā of great binding; sixth, the cintāmaṇi vidyā; seventh, the mantra of the offering assembly, etc.; these are called the seven kinds of luminous mantras. When the practitioner attains this meaning, his contemplative wisdom becomes lucid. The characteristics of the Sanskrit syllables have now been spoken.”
