「若入道場欲護摩時，先行道。先先行人可持一刀鎌，彼道場作法印。右手取刀，左手挓腰，橫行步。彼時於瞋目，令有嗔聲引，即彼明彼母部二字真言。當三種修法，或用右手作刀印念大刀。即明曰：

“When entering the bodhimaṇḍa desiring to perform homa, first circumambulate. The foremost practitioner should hold a sickle-knife and perform the ritual mudrā in that bodhimaṇḍa: take the knife with the right hand and rest the left hand on the waist, walking with cross-steps. At that time, glare angrily and utter a drawn-out wrathful sound; that is the vidyā, the two-syllable mantra of that mother division. When cultivating the three kinds of rituals, one may alternatively use the right hand to form the knife mudrā and visualize a broadsword. The vidyā says:
