4.43

「我雖受龍身，不受熱沙苦。
又於過去世，曾作人中王，
貪溺著世樂，今受龍王身。
又願諸國王，厭離於世樂，
如囚厭於獄，超出三界門。」

“Though I have received a nāga body, I do not suffer the torment of hot sand.
Moreover, in a past life I was once a king among men;
Covetously drowned in worldly pleasures, I now have received this body of a nāga king.
May all kings develop revulsion toward worldly pleasures,
Like a prisoner loathing his jail, and leap beyond the gate of the three realms!”
