The power of this dhāraṇī can cause the minds of sentient beings to attain liberation, to reach the ultimate Single Vehicle without falling into the lesser vehicle, completely pure, consummate, and fulfilled. If there are sentient beings deluded regarding the Mahāyāna, by the power of the spell they will regain certainty, just like placing a miraculous jewel in muddy water, which makes the water clear and calm by the power of the jewel. Wherever the power of this dhāraṇī extends, sentient beings receive protection and all attain liberation. By this dhāraṇī spell, the Sumeru king of mountains in the trichiliocosm is shaken and unsettled, and the heavenly king Śakra comes out of his palace in fear, wondering whose spiritual transformation could be like this. The palaces of the nāga kings all tremble, anxious and uneasy like flowering trees in motion, and the nāgas flee in terror, scurrying into holes. The minds of the divine ṛṣis become confused and dizzy, mountains collide against each other and are unsettled, the waters of the four great oceans surge and boil, and fish, turtles, and alligators hide away in holes. The power of this great dhāraṇī spell is like this. If anyone reads, recites, or writes it on bamboo or silk, this person will in their present life attain the samādhi of the Buddha's light, and will be able to eliminate the heavy sins of birth and death spanning seven hundred and seventy hundred million kalpas, extinguishing them without remainder. The monk Ānanda spoke this dhāraṇī spell, which is truly like this.
