爾時釋提桓因即從坐起，偏袒合掌白佛言：「世尊！我今亦欲擁護一切眾生，不令諸惡人非人奪精氣得其便也。」即說陀羅尼句：
At that time, Śakra Devānām Indra arose from his seat, bared his right shoulder, joined his palms, and said to the Buddha: "World-Honoured One! I now also wish to protect all sentient beings, not letting evil humans and non-humans who rob vital essence gain an advantage." He then spoke the dhāraṇī phrases:
