我鬼子母字那寐卑，今當說神呪，擁護眾生，除其邪見令得正見，弗損家財設餚供餧。此世間魍魎鬼，不如祀狗用備守。我今為汝說正真，但用華香蘇乳糜，致意恭敬下天神，令其所求悉皆得。

I, the Mother of Ghosts, named Nameibei, will now pronounce a dhāraṇī-mantra to protect sentient beings, eradicate their wrong views, and cause them to attain right views, so that without expending household wealth on setting out meats and provisions for offerings, [they may be safe]. These wangliang spectres of the world are not even as good as sacrificing to dogs for guard and watch. I will now explain the true and right way for you: using only flowers, incense, ghee, and milk-gruel, reverently honour the deities below heaven, and whatever they seek will all be obtained.
