一時佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。時佛告阿難：「吾今說大普賢呪，汝當受持。
At one time the Buddha was in the country of Śrāvastī, at the Jetavana in Anāthapiṇḍada's park. At that time, the Buddha addressed Ānanda: 'I now speak the Great Samantabhadra mantra; you should accept and uphold it.'
