The power of this dhāraṇī can cause the great trichiliocosm to undergo the six kinds of earthquakes. Sentient beings therein who are ensnared, bound, and dwelling in obscurity due to past karmic sins, upon hearing a single sound of this dhāraṇī pass their ears, will all attain rebirth in the Trāyastriṃśa heaven. If there are practitioners who uphold, read, recite, and copy this dhāraṇī, those who have not generated the aspiration will all be caused to generate it and reach firm ground, while those who have already generated the aspiration will enter the stream of the Dharma, matching the level of the eighth abode and swiftly reaching the Buddha ground. Through the power of this dhāraṇī, in a single leap they transcend to beneath the bodhi tree, up to the Buddha ground, sitting in the bodhimaṇḍa. This samādhi is called the suvarṇaprabhāsarāja-samādhi; it awakens all beings, leaps out of the three realms, pulls them out of all perils, surpasses all the noble ones, and swiftly accomplishes the Buddha path. If there are sentient beings who wish to cultivate this dhāraṇī, wishing to obtain the four fruits of śramaṇahood in their present body, and wishing to eliminate in the present life without remainder their path-obstructing five heinous offenses and violations of the four pārājika offenses spanning hundreds of thousands of koṭis of past eons, they should cultivate this dhāraṇī. For three times seven, twenty-one days, guard and maintain the prohibitive precepts like a bright pearl; throughout the day and night during the six periods, practice the way and repent toward the ten directions; bathe cleanly, put on fresh, clean clothes, and offer and revere Śākyamuni Buddha with seven-coloured flowers and three kinds of famous incense; before the relic stupa, throw the five limbs to the ground and repent, reproaching oneself. At that time, recite the phrases of this dhāraṇī eighty times, doing so day after day up to seven days. If not attained in one seven-day period, proceed to another seven days up to three seven-day periods; all grave sins spanning hundreds of millions of nayutas of eons will be extinguished without remainder, and the Buddhas of the ten directions will emit great radiance to touch their body. That person at that time will be joyous in mind, like a monk attaining the third dhyāna. At that time, Mahābrahmā, Śakra Devānām Indra, and the Four Great Heavenly Kings will appear and immediately bestow upon them the four fruits of śramaṇahood.
