2.40

This mantra can cause the minds of sentient beings to attain liberation, extinguish the three illnesses, eliminate sins that obstruct the path, thoroughly destroy enemies and bandits from other lands, and drive away all hostile foes and thieves within the realm. If one walks in the wilderness, the mouths of fierce beasts and venomous insects will be locked shut upon hearing these dhāraṇī phrases. This dhāraṇī-mantra was spoken by forty koṭis of Buddhas of the past; I now speak it. For those who practice this dhāraṇī, the realization of their wishes will not be in vain; therefore, I have now briefly spoken it.
