"These fifteen spirits constantly consume flesh and blood. By the power of this dhāraṇī-mantra, they all depart far away without giving rise to evil intentions, causing infants to be freed from terror, to be secure and free from affliction, and to have no distress while in the womb or newly born. If one recites this mantra in cities, towns, or villages, wherever they dwell, it can also cause those young children to long enjoy peace and security and fully preserve their life span. Homage to the Buddha! Accomplish this mantra, protect the children so that they are not harassed or harmed by any evil spirits, and let all perils and all terrors depart far away. Svāhā." At that time, this Brahmā, having heard this mantra spoken, rejoiced and put it into practice.
