2.44

有七事以待新至比丘：一者來至即當問消息、二者當為次座上下、三者當給與房室、四者當給臥具被枕、五者當給與燈火、六者當語比丘僧教令、七者當語國土習俗。

There are seven matters for receiving newly arrived bhikṣus: 1. As soon as they arrive, one should inquire after their well-being. 2. One should assign seats according to their seniority. 3. One should provide them with a room. 4. One should provide bedding, quilts, and pillows. 5. One should provide lamps and fire. 6. One should inform them of the bhikṣusaṅgha's rules and instructions. 7. One should tell them of the customs of the country.
