問：「高座說法，前人著俗服，可與說法不？」答：「聽法、說者二俱犯眾多過，三諫不改犯突吉羅，復過三諫犯墮，復過三諫犯決斷，復過三諫至棄。若使不諫，經三說戒，轉增。」

Question: "When expounding the Dharma from a high seat, if the person before him wears secular clothing, may the Dharma be expounded to him?" Answer: "Both the listener and the expounder commit numerous transgressions. If after three admonitions he does not reform, he commits a duṣkṛta; exceeding three more admonitions, he commits a pāyattika; exceeding three more admonitions, he commits a saṃghāvaśeṣa; exceeding three more admonitions, it reaches a pārājika. If he is not admonished, across three recitations of the prātimokṣa the offense progressively increases."
